Problem

A small service office loses jobs overnight because inbound is unstructured, people get duplicated, and only a person can turn sizes into a quote. Naive AI quotes a whole house and mails people who already replied.

What I did

• One state machine from intake to closed, with a written catalogue and an audit row per decision.
• Chat on the demo pages can use a language model for messy wording. Price-check, invoice match, and follow-up eligibility stay automation. A model cannot override a refuse list or send mail.
• Office digest counts must match the jobs file. Replay an audit id on the board.

When this should not be an agent

Email match is a lookup. Catalogue unit price is a file read. Invoice amount equals the accepted quote is a comparison. Follow-up eligibility is a rules table. Those steps never call a model. Qualify and quote wording may. Send, charge, and status may not.
